The Evangelische Schüler*- und Schülerinnen*arbeit im Rheinland e.V. is an independent youth association funded through membership fees, donations, and grants from the Evangelischen Jugend im Rheinland, as well as, on an event-by-event basis, through the Kinder- und Jugendplans des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen. Until the end of 2017, a cooperation agreement with the Ev. Kirche im Rheinland was in place, which secured ESR’s work in the long term and, above all, refinanced its staff positions. This cooperation agreement no longer exists, which means, on the one hand, that ESR now has to raise funding for each of its projects far more than before, and on the other, that ESR’s staff are currently being paid out of reserves.
We are therefore asking for your donations, so that we can continue to offer high-quality, thematically diverse international youth encounters, seminars, and camps for many years to come!
The COVID-19 pandemic has made our situation even more difficult. Due to travel restrictions, the BK-Heim had significantly lower income. This has further worsened the association’s already tight financial situation. Among other things, planned, necessary renovation work at the BK-Heim has already had to be postponed. Accordingly, we are relying on donations more than ever.
